Homemade Coconut Face Cream.

I find it’s the best acne treatment, moisturizer, and anti-wrinkle cream. I use this daily. You will need coconut oil, baking soda, water, coconut fragrance, and stearic acid. Stearic acid is a safe fatty acid, found naturally in most plant and animal fats and oils. You can buy stearic acid at candle making and soap making supply stores. You can also easily buy stearic acid cheaply on line.

To make your Coconut Face Cream, it is best to use a double boiler. This is a pot placed in a larger pot that is filled with water. You don’t want to heat the ingredients over direct heat on the stove burner. Melt together two tablespoons of stearic acid together with a quarter cup of coconut oil in the double boiler. Heat the oil mixture just until the stearic acid is melted into the oil. Remove the pot from the burner before adding the next ingredients.

Next, mix a half teaspoon of baking soda into a half cup of water in a microwave-safe cup. Microwave on high for about a minute. You want to get it hot, but not boiling. Slowly stir the water into the melted oil mixture. Add a few drops of coconut fragrance at this time if you want an even more fragrant face cream. The new mixture should foam up to almost double in volume. To make your mixture even fluffier, mix it in a blender on high for a couple of minutes. You will get a light, fluffy white cream.

To store your face cream, spoon it into a lidded dish or wide mouthed jar. You will need to cool it completely before using or storage. Use an airtight jar if you want the face cream to last longer.
